A stroll through the trees was good enough to move and get everyone warmed up. Terri and Sable were walking out with two mares that were set to retire come next season. Terri was set to ride a beautiful chestnut mare named Red Admiral and Sable would be riding Midnight Sun, a mare with a nasty attitude. Both mares were just going for an easy run through the trees to get away from the tracks. The mares whinnied with relief. "Its been awhile since these girls been on a good run outside of the track lets keep them happy." Terri said as she then started Addy along the trail and Night followed soon after as a sync.
The mares went deep within the forest as they then slowed down to a trot, "I hope Red Admiral does the red mile justice." Sable said in confidence as they both just trotted next to each other. Terri smiled towards the proposition as she hoped so as well. "Me too I am sure Night will also be her best." Terri said as she then smirked and without noticed clicked her tongue and Red Admiral went again into a straight gallop up the trails and this time they were racing for fun. Night immediately took off into a sprint ready to take her strides easy. Sable was getting the gist of Nature Blues horses in fact he had his own horse to ride and bond with and that was Eavesdropper.
Night followed the chestnut mare until she was evenly by her side but as the trails were to rise up hill the mares picked up the pace Night not liking the change but she would get used to it. Both mares were fine at what they did the scenery made them feel like they weren't trapped in a large oval. Addy pushed Night forward keeping her strides even along the trails, Night was not going to listen to her fellow peers. When they reached the area they were travelling to, Terri had them stop and turn the horses around to head back the other way. "Okay now is the tricky part, on the way down we are just gonna trot them lightly and not push them. Let them do their own thing." With that Terri and Sable trotted the mares down the hills
Midnight Sun decided to take the lead on this one and she went ahead with no fear in her eyes. Without hesitation, the mare followed through and when they reached the bottom Night would not wait and took off into an immediate sprint pushing the gravel and grass back behind her. Red Admiral took her time before she decided to chase after the black mare with pride and honor in her stride. When they reached the opening once again Terri could only smile towards the ride they had shared. Both mares were not running in a circle this time was a straight line from point A to B. "That was an amazing rise. Night certainly was impatient but I think these ladies still have it." Terri said as they both headed back to the trailers to take the ride home.
